China to negotiate in ‘good faith’
China’s Foreign Ministry said today it plans “good faith” negotiations with the United States on ending a long-running trade dispute, Reuters reported. Talks are being held this week in Beijing. U.S. President Donald Trump and China President Xi Jinping earlier called a 90-day truce as markets fell in part due to concerns over tariffs. U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross told NBC he sees “a very good chance that we will get a reasonable settlement that China can live with, that we can live with and that addresses all of the key issues.” Trump has long contended the United States was being treated unfavorably in trade with China. In addition to concerns over financial terms, China has been criticized for taking intellectual property.
