Choose Iowa Passport launches as free guide to agritourism

124 wordsAg and Environment, All Latest News, Arts and CultureChoose Iowa and Travel Iowa have partnered to launch the Choose Iowa Passport, a free, interactive digital platform designed to help Iowans and visitors find farms and farm stands, orchards, you-pick opportunities, farm-to-table dining and restaurants and more places with locally sourced Iowa products. The initiative aims to promote agritourism experiences Iowa-based food, beverages and agriculture products, a news release said. Users of the Choose Iowa Passport can check in at participating locations via their smartphones to earn points, which can be redeemed for prizes. “This partnership between Travel Iowa and Choose Iowa offers authentic agritourism experiences that celebrate and elevate Iowa’s agricultural prominence and heritage,” Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig said in a prepared statement.
