A 90-year-old downtown Waverly staple is closing its doors. Waverly Palace Theatre announced the closing abruptly on its Facebook page Sunday night.

After several people asked why in the comments, another post appeared an hour later explaining the theater had been losing money and it was unclear what would happen to the business or the building.
