City improves sewer in Beaverdale
The city of Des Moines has started construction on a $6 million Beaverdale stormwater project in the area of 47th Street and Holcomb Avenue. The work will make it easier to store water underground, and to move it out of the area. The city in October started work on a $7 million project to replace a small wooden box culvert — a relic — and to replace it with a much larger concrete version. The area had severe floods in summer 2018.
