Anderson most recently worked for the city of Anchorage, Alaska, where she was executive director of the Anchorage Equal Rights Commission. Anderson is a public interest attorney with nearly 15 years of experience in federal, state and local governments. She served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member earlier in her career and is also a certified mediator, resolving disputes for the Alaska State Commission for Human Rights from between 2017 and 2019. Anderson, who will be paid $138,000 annually, began working for the city on May 2.
