Civic Music Association will host a free party to kick off its 2012-13 season on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 5-7 p.m. at Jasper Winery. The event will feature live music by Civic Music Association’s artists in residence, the Belin Quartet and local jazz from the Steve Charlson Trio. Complimentary food will be provided by The Cheese Shop of Des Moines. Wine and beer by Jasper Winery & Madhouse Brewery will be available for purchase. Guests will be invited to enter a drawing for a chance to win two full-season subscriptions to Civic Music Association’s 2012-13 season, two tickets to the season opener featuring pianist Christopher O’Riley and cellist Matt Haimovitz, and other prizes.
