Class-action lawsuit filed against Des Moines officers over Floyd protests
Des Moines Register: A new lawsuit seeks to represent all individuals allegedly beaten, tear-gassed and arrested without cause by police during a chaotic May night of protesting and vandalism in downtown Des Moines. The class-action suit was filed in Polk County Court on Tuesday by Gina Messamer, a Des Moines attorney already representing at least three individual plaintiffs in cases stemming from protests that broke out in May after the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.
