The Clive City Council has approved a five-year capital improvements plan that includes more than $34 million in investments in a range of street projects that will be funded through a 5 percent franchise fee on electric and gas utilities. Projects include overlaying asphalt next year on University Avenue between Northwest 86th Street and Interstate 35/80 in conjunction with the city of West Des Moines and the reconstruction in 2018 of Meredith Drive between 156th Street and Alice’s Road, which will be a joint project with the city of Urbandale.
