Colombian cuisine offered at networking breakfast

109 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, EducationCultureALL’s next Culture Kin Breakfast and Networking Event for Greater Des Moines professionals on Friday, Jan. 24 will feature Colombian cooking by chef Amparo Tavera de Romero. Born in Colombia, the Waukee resident discovered her love for cooking as a child, helping her mother prepare meals for their family. Clemen Wilcox, owner of Everything Spanish and also a Colombian native, will speak about her native country’s culture and traditions during the breakfast. The event will be from 7 to 9 a.m. at Mercy College of Health Sciences, 928 Sixth Ave. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased online; proceeds will benefit CultureALL’s education programs for K-12 students.
