Commonwealth Electric announces leadership transition

Price, who has worked for Commonwealth more than 30 years, has been president since 2019 and will continue in that role in addition to CEO. He succeeded David Firestone, effective Jan. 1. Firestone, who co-founded the company 34 years ago, is retiring. Additionally, Billy Friesen, Commonwealth’s secretary-treasurer and chief financial officer, has added the role of corporate secretary. He succeeds Glenn Moss, a co-founder, who is retiring. Friesen joined the company in 2014 and facilitated its transition to a 100% employee-owned company. Based in Lincoln, Neb., the electrical and low voltage specialty company employs about 900 people across eight locations in Nebraska, Iowa and Arizona, including a Des Moines office.
