FemCity Des Moines announced last week it will host its second annual Flourish, a community event designed to give female business owners a chance to earn funding. The event will be held Nov. 12 at Mainframe Studios in Des Moines.

Flourish is open to applicants with innovative ideas to spark, grow or revamp their business. Three finalists will be selected to present their ideas at Flourish. Based on an in-person community vote, one finalist will earn the funds raised at the event to be used for her business.

The goal of the event, organizers said, is to give the community an opportunity to play a role in elevating female business owners. Flourish is sponsored by Taylored Benefits and the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
