Construction is underway on a $2.9 million retail development located south of Interstate Highway 35-80 and adjacent to the 100th Street off-ramp in Urbandale.

The first phase of Marketplace at Urban Loop, 4820 100th St., includes a 10,531-square-foot multi-tenant retail center. Tenants include Classy Nails Spa, which has leased 3,300 square feet, and Donutland, which has leased 1,809 square feet, according to Dillon Temple, managing broker of Angle Realty in West Des Moines.

Construction of the retail center is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. Future phases include a second 10,531-square-foot retail center and two free-standing pad sites along 100th Street, according to Temple.

Temple Real Estate Services is the project’s developer and builder. Simonson & Associates Inc. is the project’s architect.

Temple Holdings LP, managed by Temple Real Estate Services, acquired the property in 2014, real estate records show.

The 100th Street interchange on the interstate opened in 2018, providing easier access to new developments.
