Construction is underway for the $2 million Ankeny Market & Pavilion. The project is being led by the city of Ankeny and the Ankeny Rotary Club. So far, $1.75 million has been donated for the AMP, which will provide the primary trailhead for the 26-mile High Trestle Trail that runs from Ankeny to Woodward. The AMP will include two open-air shelters, which will house the Ankeny Uptown Farmers Market and a variety of community activities; a restroom building; 108 parking spaces; and other open green space. Fundraising efforts began in December 2012. Pending additional fundraising, the goal is to have the AMP completed next year.
