Corn Promotion Board spent slightly more than it took in
The Iowa Corn Promotion Board saw a 16.4 percent increase in expenses in the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31, but much of that was due to a $4 million gift to an Iowa State University capital project, a new state audit found. The board works on research, education and promotion related to corn and corn-based products. The organization’s revenues for the period were $22,073,706, up 4.5 percent. Expenses were $22,409,427.
