Fareway Food Stores, the Des Moines Area Religious Council, Local 5 News and the Polk County Board of Supervisors will hold a food drive on Friday, Dec. 11, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Can Hunger Food drive will take place at the Fareway Store located at 8450 Meredith Drive. The most needed items include: 100 percent juice, canned fruit, canned vegetables, beans, peanut butter, canned tuna or chicken, dry pasta, rice vegetable soup, pasta sauce and cereal. All items will be given to the religious council’s food pantries for distribution throughout Polk County.
