Lauridsen Fountain, an interactive and decorative water feature on the newly renovated Cowles Commons, is now open. The fountain opened this week, and while Des Moines Performing Arts Chief Operating Officer Laura Sweet said the organization is still in the initial stages of testing the feature, normal hours when the public can enjoy the feature are 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. The Lauridsen Fountain is meant to provide a large, immersive wet play experience for children and adults. The feature was designed by Fluidity Design Consultants.
