Successful Farming reports that poor weather this spring could delay planting of corn and soybeans. AccuWeather.com meteorologist Dale Mohler said chilly conditions may linger. “The Corn Belt is going to stay in a chilly pattern, and I don’t think it will change very quickly,” Mohler said. “With soil temps lagging behind, farmers are going to see a later start in the fields.” Most of the Midwest is expected to struggle to get to the 50-degree soil temperature needed for seed germination.
