AccuWeather.com meteorologist Dale Mohler said chilly conditions may linger. “The Corn Belt is going to stay in a chilly pattern, and I don’t think it will change very quickly,” Mohler said. “With soil temps lagging behind, farmers are going to see a later start in the fields.” Most of the Midwest is expected to struggle to get to the 50-degree soil temperature needed for seed germination.
