Cultural Affairs awards historic preservation grants
The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs today announced it has awarded $595,922 to 27 historic preservation and country school projects in 22 communities across the state. In Greater Des Moines, the Des Moines Art Center will receive $50,000 to renovate its Levitt Auditorium, and the Science Center of Iowa will use a $27,607 grant to refresh its What On Earth gallery.
