Cunningham retires today; his company put a cover on signature Des Moines structures

Three years in the planning, the retirement of Architectural Wall Systems President Mike Cunningham is effective today. He founded the company in 1991 and proceeded to put a face on the exteriors of many of downtown Des Moines’ most iconic buildings, including the Wellmark Inc. headquarters, the Des Moines Central Library, the Pappajohn Education Center, the State of Iowa Judicial Building, Meredith Corp.’s headquarters and EMC Insurance Group Inc.’s headquarters, not to mention the Wells Fargo West Des Moines campus. Current projects include the Krause Gateway Center in downtown Des Moines. Architectural Wall Systems offers engineering and design services, project management, performance testing, and custom manufacturing for exterior envelope systems of all types.
