The D-Line downtown shuttle will be temporarily rerouted to accommodate the hundreds of lawmakers, lobbyists and citizens expected to visit the state Capitol during the 2011 legislative session. Beginning on Jan. 10, the D-Line, a free shuttle that runs east and west through downtown from Western Gateway Park to the Capitol, will stop on the west side of the building instead of operating on East 12th Street. The route will return to normal when the session ends. The D-Line was launched in May 2008 by the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority. It currently provides an average of more than 15,000 rides per month. For more information, go to www.ridedart.com.
