Des Moines Register: Theaters are reopening in the Des Moines metro area in time to showcase the much-buzzed-about spy thriller “Tenet,” the first new blockbuster since the pandemic temporarily darkened movie screens in March. Several movie houses including AMC’s three metro megaplexes and Flix Brewhouse at Merle Hay Mall are set to reopen this week or next. Cinemark’s Jordan Creek and Altoona theaters reopened last week, joining the B&B Theatres Ankeny 12 and the Des Moines-based Fridley family of theaters, some of which reopened as early as late May. That will leave Fleur Cinema & Cafe as the only major metro movie house still closed.
