The Des Moines City Council will meet at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6 for an update on efforts to develop a new zoning code and updated zoning map. Time has been allotted for public comment on the proposed changes. The meeting is at the Richard A. Clark Municipal Service Center, 1551 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Des Moines Community Development Director Phil Delafield, landscape architect and urban planner Chris Della Vedova, developer Jake Christensen and Hubbell Realty Co. land development specialist Joe Pietruszynski discussed the city’s efforts to move to “form-based” zoning earlier this year with the Business Record.
