D.M. ranks among top 20 U.S. cities for households making a least $100,000 a year

78 wordsAll Latest News, Economic Development, Statewide NewsDes Moines Register: A greater share of households in Des Moines earn at least $100,000 annually than in most American cities, according to a recent analysis by financial technology company SmartAsset. The Des Moines-West Des Moines metro area ranked 17th in the study of U.S. metropolitan areas for the percentage of tax returns reporting six-figure incomes. Based on IRS data, the study shows nearly 21 percent of Des Moines metro tax returns reported income of $100,000 or more.
