Des Moines resident Princess W. has been named the Iowa Youth of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The award recognizes leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to a healthy lifestyle. The clubs withhold the last name of participants for privacy reasons. Princess will receive a $5,000 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America and will contend for regional and national titles. She has been in the Boys & Girls Clubs since 2014. She is a leader in the clubs, a junior staff member, a graduate of Roosevelt High School and a student at Des Moines Area Community College.
