Dakota Access pipeline was justified in using eminent domain, Iowa Supreme Court rules

Des Moines Register: The controversial Dakota Access pipeline was within its rights to use eminent domain to seize private land, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled today, putting to rest a yearslong challenge from landowners and environmental groups who had sought to stop the flow of oil through the state. The court agreed with the Iowa Utilities Board’s determination that the pipeline “serves the public convenience and necessity.”
