Dallas County has made CNN’s list of the 25 best places for job growth, and is the only county from Iowa to make the top 25. According to the list, Dallas County ranks No. 14, with a 40.89 percent increase in jobs from 2000-2007.

“Job prospects are growing in Dallas County, where a strengthening transportation infrastructure is beginning to accommodate an influx of residents and commuters to the area,” CNN reported.

The report noted the arrival of life insurance company Aviva USA and commercial printing company Quebecor World.

“The county also expects to see growth in the medical and mental health fields on pending plans for a new local hospital, and a proposed regional airport could also boost jobs there,” CNN reported.

The county that ranked No. 1 for job growth over the past seven years was Tooele County, Utah, which boasted 123.35 percent growth between 2000 and 2007.

CNN also did a Top 25 list for the wealthiest places in the county and tracked counties with the highest median family incomes. No Iowa counties made that list.
