DART drivers win bus ‘rodeo’ event
Four drivers from the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) were among the place-winners at the DART Bus Roadeo at Southridge Mall on Saturday and will compete in the state finals on June 13. The drivers competed in timed trips through an obstacle course, trying to avoid hitting cones. Advancing to the next round are Cesar Chavez and Abay Mengistu in the 35-foot bus category, and Kurt Mackel-Wiederanders and Ivan Thompson in the 25-foot bus division.
