Delta Dental of Iowa has donated more than $5,000 to help children get free dental screenings before the school year.

The donation is part of Delta’s Giving Back and Investing in Iowa program. All children newly enrolling in school in Iowa are required to have a dental screening.

The contribution is part of the Jumpstart Back to School Health Fair, where children are given free dental and health screenings.

The event will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on July 18 at East High School.
