In 2017, health insurer Delta Dental of Iowa contributed more than $2.1 million throughout Iowa through the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, Public Benefit Program and the company’s corporate giving, according to a news release. In addition to monetary contributions, Delta Dental employees also participated in community events, such as the Komen Greater Iowa Race for the Cure. The foundation and Public Benefit Program also invested in oral health programs that benefited all 99 counties in the state. As a vision insurance carrier, Delta Dental of Iowa announced support to three Iowa nonprofits that support children’s vision health – Prevent Blindness Iowa, Vision to Learn and Iowa KidSight. “As a local, not-for-profit health and wellness company, it’s important for us to serve the communities in which we live and work,” said Jeff Russell, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa. Russell was named this month as a Business Record Forty Under 40 Alum of the Year.
