Des Moines Register: Emails obtained by the Des Moines Register show that the CEO of a private firm that provides security for Des Moines municipal buildings sent explicit emails to city officials between March and July this year. That firm, The Conley Group, has a contract valued at $250,000 to provide both armed and unarmed security services at several city buildings. The city launched an internal investigation last month after a Des Moines Register investigation published July 18 revealed that CEO Tom Conley wrote in emails to city officials that participants in racial justice protests last year engaged in “terrorism” and referred to members of the local Black Liberation Movement in a derogatory way on his Facebook page.
