Des Moines Golf and Country Club Director of Grounds Rick Tegtmeier has been named 2017 TurfNet Superintendent of the Year for his work during four years of preparation for the Solheim Cup and during the event. The organization called the course “virtually flawless” and said Tegtmeier has mentored other superintendents. Due to the first tie score in the competition, Jorge Croda, superintendent at Southern Oaks Golf Club in Burleson, Texas, shared the award.
