Max Wellman has teamed up with fellow Des Moines native Sam Wells for a two-night concert in July with the Belin Quartet.

The Civic Music Association said Wellman has been working with Wells to create a new sound, combining classical, jazz and contemporary songwriting. The new project from Wellman draws on Frank Sinatra’s work with the Hollywood String Quartet, according to a release, and features all original music from Wells.

Wellman will take the stage at Drake University’s Shleslow Auditorium on July 20 and 21. Tickets go on sale May 14 through Midwestix.
