Des Moines nonprofits merge to help HIV patients
AIDS and HIV patients soon will receive medical and case management services more conveniently, and two Des Moines nonprofit agencies will save money by merging.
The AIDS Project of Central Iowa and Primary Health Care Inc. will merge on Jan. 1.
Kelly Huntsman, executive director for Primary Health Care, said the two agencies provided some of the same services to the same clients at two locations.
She said that eventually the two centers will be joined into one, which will save costs for both agencies.
