The Greater Des Moines Partnership has developed a prospectus to share information on seven Opportunity Zones in metro area. The Opportunity Zone program is touted as having the potential to create jobs and spark economic development by encouraging long-term investment in low-income areas. For investors, the program is a way to reduce, defer, and in some instances eliminate tax payments on capital gains from unrelated investments.
