The Des Moines Public Library is seeking input from community leaders and their organizations as part of a strategic planning initiative in which it is assessing its current operations and evaluating future needs. “One of our major priorities this year – even before the COVID-19 crisis hit – was to take a deep look at the future of our library, and see that our services and missions align with a community we serve that continues to evolve in all aspects,” said Tim Paluch, community engagement supervisor for the Des Moines Public Library. In addition to taking the Community Leader Survey, DMPL is asking community leaders to assist in this effort by passing along a brief Community Survey to their constituents. The surveys will be accepted during the next two weeks or until sufficient responses have been received. The library anticipates unveiling its new strategic plan in late summer or early fall, Paluch said.
