The Des Moines Public Library’s annual Authors Visiting in Des Moines (AViD) speaker series returns for the 20th anniversary on March 28, DMPL announced this week. The series begins at the DSM Book Festival with author Tayari Jones, who was awarded the Women’s Prize for Fiction, an NAACP Image Award, and was chosen as an Oprah Book Club pick for her 2018 novel “An American Marriage.” Other upcoming speakers are Hanif Abdurraquib on April 9, Kate Quinn on April 23, Adam Higginbotham on May 6, Brad Meltzer on May 14 and Jacqueline Woodson on May 27.
