Des Moines ranks 8th in amount of new data center space built in past decade

The Des Moines area’s data center market grew from 78,000 square feet in 2012 to 1.5 million square feet of data center space at the end of 2021, according to the report. Microsoft Inc. has built data centers in West Des Moines; Facebook has built centers in Altoona. Earlier this year, Apple Inc. began construction of its data center project in Waukee. The top markets were Washington, D.C., and Dallas-Fort Worth. To read the report, click here.
