Des Moines Register: More than 100 long-term care facilities in Iowa have COVID-19 outbreaks as the coronavirus rages across the state. The state today was reporting 102 COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care facilities. At 10 a.m. the state reported 1,872 COVID-19-related deaths, an increase of 27 in 24 hours. Of the state’s deaths, 900 were related to long-term care facilities.
Corridor Business Journal: Janet Godwin has been named the permanent CEO of ACT Inc., the Iowa City-based nonprofit learning organization. She had been serving as interim chief executive officer since the May departure of Marten Roorda. Godwin is a 30-year veteran of ACT. She has also served on a number of volunteer boards, including the Iowa City school board, which she currently leads as president.
