The Milken Institute announced this morning that several cities in Iowa were named to its list of cities best for successful aging.

In large metropolitan areas, Des Moines tied for sixth, with Salt Lake City. Provo-Orem, Utah ranked first.

The Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area ranked third. Iowa City ranked second in the institute’s list of small metros, behind Sioux Falls, S.D. Iowa City was followed by Ames, in the 11th spot, and Dubuque, in the 14th spot. Cedar Rapids ranked 60th. For the full results, click here.
