Des Moines unemployment rate is among lowest
The unemployment rate in Des Moines is among the lowest in the country, according to numbers from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics compiled by Bizjournals.com.
Des Moines’ October unemployment rate was 4.7 percent, which was the third lowest of the 102 major markets compiled. Only Omaha (3.9 percent) and Madison, Wis., (4.1 percent) were lower.
The percentage is still worse than it was five years ago, as Des Moines had an unemployment rate of 3.2 percent in October 2007.
