Des Moines Register: The former owners of a longtime Iowa State Fair bar are on the hook for more than half a million dollars in restitution after pleading guilty to tax evasion. Lance Benoit, 61, Tamera Benoit, 60, and Tricia Behlers, 56, were charged in January 2020 with multiple financial crimes related to the operations of Benoit Distributing, the parent company of the Diamond Jack’s western saloon, a 40-year mainstay at the fairgrounds. Officials alleged at the time that the company had failed to pay more than $250,000 in taxes. Diamond Jack’s closed after its owners were charged.
