Des Moines Area Community College’s Iowa Culinary Institute has received a grant of accreditation from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission, according to a release. The culinary arts degree program at DMACC was one of the first degree programs in the nation to receive accreditation from the ACF over 25 years ago. “This grant really proves that the students in culinary arts are receiving a high-quality educational experience,” said John Andres, director of the culinary program. There are 200 students in the program. There is currently no waiting list, although the fall roster of incoming students was full. DMACC’s associate degree in culinary arts program and its culinary arts certificate program are granted the accreditation for the next five years.
