Des Moines Area Community College announced Tuesday it has selected Kyle Collins to serve as assistant to the vice president of academic affairs and Deborah Kepple-Mamros as executive director of planning, assessment and data. Collins started his career as a sixth grade teacher at Southeast Elementary in Ankeny before moving to Arizona. He returned to Iowa with experience at the University of Arizona and worked for seven years in multiple roles at Northeast Iowa Community College as director of online and blended learning, associate dean and dean. Kepple-Mamros’ most recent position was as director of assessment, accreditation and strategic planning for Western Illinois University, where she helped lead the university through its 10-year reaccreditation visit. Previously she was the assistant to the vice president at Western Illinois University and worked at Graceland University in Lamoni, serving on the Higher Learning Commission Assessment Academy team and the retention committee, as registrar and as the first director of institutional research during her tenure. Both will work on the DMACC Ankeny campus.
