Des Moines Area Community College’s Center for Career and Professional Development at Southridge Mall  has launched an industrial painting program. “Industrial painters are in high demand, but no one was teaching this highly technical skill. Industrial painting requires talent and significant training,” said instructor Jeff Edgington. “We decided to take this on and help fulfill industry needs.” Eight students recently graduated with the certificate, and most already have jobs at places such as Vermeer Corp.
