Des Moines Area Community College has named MD Isley as the college’s vice president of academic affairs. Isley, who had been the academic dean of business, management and information technology for the past six years, replaces Scott Ocken, who is retiring at the end of this year. In his new capacity, Isley will serve as DMACC’s chief academic officer. In addition, he will oversee academic services for all campuses, coordinate academic and faculty responsibilities with the college’s provosts and deans, and serve on the president’s cabinet and executive council. Before returning to DMACC, he led Bravo Greater Des Moines for five years as executive director and CEO. The majority of his career has been spent in higher education in positions in Arizona and North Dakota. Isley has also had prior experience at DMACC. He was a training consultant for DMACC Business Resources, the founding director for the DMACC West Lakes Center for Professional Development and the associate dean for the DMACC West Campus.
