Value Colleges.com ranked Des Moines Area Community College 10th on itsannual list of the Top 50 Best Value Community Colleges. Using data from College Measures, a Gates Foundation-supported database, Value Colleges evaluated 1,717 community colleges across the nation on tuition cost, graduation/transfer rates and graduate salaries and accreditation. The report highlighted DMACC’s many transfer agreements, number of degrees offered and national recognition for excellence. “We are very thrilled with this announcement,” DMACC President Rob Denson said. “As an institution, our board of directors, faculty and staff are focused on quality first and then keeping tuition and student debt as low as possible.” Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs was the only other Iowa institution on the list, placing 45th.
