DNR officer wins international award
Iowa conservation officer Steven Griebel has become the first Iowa Department of Natural Resources staffer to be named Officer of the Year by the Mississippi Flyway Law Enforcement Council. He topped candidates from 14 states and three Canada provinces, and logged a record number of votes. A 20-year veteran of the industry, Griebel was cited for his contributions in waterfowl education and wetland protection, his enforcement activity, and other areas.
