DOT gives money for I-35 upgrades
U.S. Senator Tom Harkin today announced that Iowa will receive $6.06 million for highway-related projects.
The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration.
The largest portion of the funding — $3.75 million – will go toward converting U.S. Interstate 35 from a four-lane to six-lane configuration from the Warren County line to the Interstate 80 and Interstate 235 intersection. It will also be used to resurface and restore a 2.2-mile stretch from the Raccoon River to West Des Moines.
