DOT offers real-time truck parking info
The Iowa Department of Transportation is starting a system that will give truckers real-time info on where parking is available at rest stops and at truck stops. It should be up and running by Jan. 4, 2019. The system is intended to improve safety and is part of an eight-state effort.
Parking information will be available through Iowa’s 511 information system, and via a data feed to cabs and a mobile app. For more information, contact Phil Mescher at 515-239-1629 or phil.mescher@iowadot.us.
