DOT offers Urban Youth Corps grants
The Iowa Department of Transportation is asking private, nonprofit organizations and public agencies to submit applications for matching grants through the Urban Youth Corps program. The program provides transportation-related work projects and training opportunities to youths between the ages of 16 and 21 who face barriers to employment. Another goal is to improve transportation facilities. Examples of eligible transportation-related work projects include pedestrian and bicycle facilities and use of abandoned railway corridors for trails. The program has $75,000 for grants. Read more
